How fast is the Piaggio scooter?
The first two, the Piaggio 1 and 1+ are considered mopeds and are speed-limited to 28 mph with a range of 34 miles and 60 miles, respectively.
The base model has a 1.2Kw motor, while the Piaggio One Active produces 2Kw. Flat to full charging takes six hours and is achieved by removing the battery from the scooter and carrying it to wherever you're going to charge it. This makes charging easy, providing you can carry the battery.
Piaggio FLY Bike Overview
Commonly known as one of the best commuter scooters on the market, the Piaggio FLY comes in two models 50cc and 125cc. With a top speed of 61mph, the FLY is perfect for around town riding to commuting to the office.
2022 Piaggio Piaggio 1 Active • $4,399
The Active version of the Piaggio 1 unleashes all its energy to deliver a top speed of 37 mph.
The Rion 2RE70 Thrust currently holds the title as the fastest electric scooter in the world by a sizeable margin. It can go at least 80 MPH (more, depending on rider weight, battery charge, terrain, etc.) and lasts for up to 50 miles on a single charge of the 30 ah/84V lithium battery.
Piaggio Zip 4T
This 50cc Italian scooter, which was first available in 2005, has a four-stroke engine and can go at 50mph (80kph).
Wait for scooter to charge
Charge until the indicator light on the charger turns green and promptly disconnect. For most chargers, the light will turn green before fully charged. If your scooter has a built-in voltmeter or battery display you will notice you're not quite at 100%.
Your battery should be completely charged when the charger light turns a solid Green after a full 12 hours of charging. If your charger shows a solid Green light after charging for a shorter period of time, your battery may not be fully charged.
The typical range for an e-scooter battery is between 20-40 miles per charge, or 32-64km. This can vary, though. To maximise your battery life, t's important to be mindful of your riding conditions and riding style.
Maintenance. A properly maintained Vespa should last a long time, well beyond 38,000 miles. I change the oil in my GT200 every 1000 miles, even though the book says 3000. I also warm it up before taking off, and keep it parked inside.
What is the mpg of a Piaggio scooter?
Vespa/Piaggio products have an astonishing average fuel economy of up to 115 MPG!
In other words 2.4litres per 100kms/ or 96.6mpg!

Piaggio Group: The Vespa Brand Is Worth 906 Million Euros.
The P. 180 Avanti II is the fastest and most advanced turboprop in the world, with a range of over 1,800 miles at a speed of 398 kts (450mph) and a maximum cruising altitude of 41,000 ft. Its overall performance is similar to that of a jet but with 30 percent less fuel and operating costs.
Production takes place in China at the joint venture Zongshen Piaggio plant in Foshan. It is the first scooter of Piaggio to be produced exclusively in the electric version and is positioned lower in terms of prices and dimensions than the Vespa Elettrica.
Any 30 mph electric scooter is fast. But in terms of top speed, it's not fast. The benefit of this speed range is for fast long commutes. And 30 mph electric scooters can still be pretty portable, whereas the fastest electric scooters aren't, as their larger battery packs add weight to a heavy scooter.
2. Which scooter is best for daily use? The speed at which a bike gives the best mileage is typically around 55-65 km/h (35-40 mph).

Those timeless, unmistakable lines are what separate the big-body Vespa, known as the Vespone, from every other scooter roaming the streets of, well, Rome, as an example, which is where Piaggio brought the world press for the intro of the new GTS 300—the most powerful Vespa ever made.
The Piaggio MP3 530 hpe Exclusive is powered by the brand-new 530 cc Euro 5 High Performance Engine, a fearsome piece of engineering that delivers over 44 hp and is the most powerful single-cylinder scooter in the three-wheel segment.
Should I leave my scooter on while charging?
Turn Your Scooter Off While Charging
Keeping your scooter turned off while you charge will ensure that the battery charges correctly. If turned on, you run the risk of constantly draining and recharging since the battery can discharge power to the scooter's electrical components at the same time as its being charged.
It's not necessary to stop the scooter from charging overnight, but scooter batteries are large and store significant energy. Any large lithium battery like those in e-bikes, EUCs, onewheels and e-scooters pose a certain amount of risk of catching fire, so we highly recommend not charging while unattended or overnight.
Can You Overcharge a Mobility Scooter Battery? Simply put, no you cannot overcharge your battery. With the majority of batteries now fitted with a cut-off point, you can have peace of mind that your battery will turn off as soon as it is fully charged.
Always make sure it is minimally 10% charged. If you charge your electric scooter's battery regularly, it will significantly prolong its life.
Charging times can vary significantly depending on the size of the scooter, type of battery and charge remaining in the battery. However, a full charge can take anywhere from 6 to 10 hours. The battery is fully charged when the light on your charger turns green. In some cases, this light might also flash green.
12.8 V for a lead acid is considered full, but the residual charge can lead to readings of above 13.2 V. So if you read the battery gauge soon after charging, you may see the needle go all the way to the edge of the right zone, or even further beyond, so the battery appears very full.
In fact, your battery will last longer if you don't charge it to 100% each time. However, if you expect to be using your scooter for a long journey, it's fine to keep charging until you reach 100%. Just make sure you unplug it promptly when it reaches 100% and don't leave the charger attached.
How many times can you charge an electric scooter battery? Electric scooters can go through between 300 to 500 charging cycles before starting to lose battery capacity.
Generally, you'll be able to go between 10 to 12 hours on a full charge. This means you can use your scooter for short and long trips without needing to worry about plugging it in. It also helps to reduce your use of the throttle when you can, as this will help your battery last longer.
The fuel tank capacity of Vespa S is 8.7 Ltrs.
How many years can you keep a scooter?
On average, e-scooters in a ride-share fleet last for 9 to 18 months, while personal ones last for up to 3 years. The efficiency of a personal e-scooter reduces after the first 2 years, but with proper care and maintenance, you'll still be cruising your scooter for up to 3 years or even more.
Vespas have been manufactured uninterrupted since 1946 at the Piaggio plant in Pontedera, near Pisa, in Tuscany, Italy. Here you'll also find the Piaggio Museum that includes plenty of Vespa history.
- Do not keep the clutch lever hard-pressed when you are riding.
- Do not run the engine in low gear for prolonged time.
- Do not park your under direct sunlight as it leads to fuel vaporization.
- Do not keep brake pedal pressed when on the move.
- Do not increase the engine rpm through traffic stops.
The larger scooters – maxi scooters and 300cc plus scooters which weigh about 150 kg and over and the smaller scooters that weight between 100-150 kg and are 50-200cc. The larger scooters tend to get between 23 to 29 kms per litre so roughly 3.5 to 4.5 litres to travel 100km.
Generally a moped has about a 5 liter gas tank or 1.32 gallons. Scooters can get between 100 and 120 mpg, so that leaves us at an estimate range of 132 to 158.4 miles or 212 to 255 kilometers.
The general rule of thumb is that a 2-stroke scooter engine will last beyond 30,000km assuming a normal servicing schedule is being kept up. Having said that we have customers with over 50,000km on their little 50cc scooter and they still run fine!
Capacity: 5.5 liters (1.45 gallon). For scooters with 50cc QMB139 engines.
With an estimated fuel economy of 110 miles per gallon and a fuel capacity of 1.4 gallons, the Mio 50 has extremely low fuel consumption and is environmentally conscious.

2023 Piaggio Piaggio 1 Active • $4,799
The Active version of the Piaggio 1 unleashes all its energy to deliver a top speed of 37 mph.
The latest and greatest being the new Piaggio Gilera GP 800 that just debuted in Milan as the world's fastest scooter. This powerful 850cc scooter sports a 75hp 90 degree V-twin motor that delivers a top speed of more than 120mph, unprecedented for such a vehicle with automatic transmission.
Top speed for the BV200 is about 75 mph, while the 250 and 300 can do up to 80 mph. The BV350 received a new generation of Piaggio motor.
It easily holds 70mph, so motorways aren't a problem either. A big 500cc scooter like a T-Max (or Piaggio's own 500 MP3) will be quicker, but do you really need that performance? If not, the 300 does the job.
Top speed: 65 mph. 89 mpg. 32” seat height. Seating for passenger.
The Piaggio 1 active is not going to be for everyone. The 40-mile range and 38mph top speed are going to limit the kind of riding it can comfortably perform and the riders that will want to use it.
Which is the most powerful scooter in the world?
Updated December 2021: the Wolf King GT is the fastest production scooter in the world. We live in an unprecedented time, when much of the world enjoys unregulated access to ridiculously fast electric scooters.
